Lieutenant Colonel Trey Jordan assumed command of the Charleston District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on June 28, 2007.

As the Commander and District Engineer, Lieutenant Colonel Jordan is responsible for water resources planning, design and construction; Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS) cleanup; Federal regulatory oversight; and international and interagency support activities. The district supports water resources activities in the state of South Carolina. The Charleston District performs work for other federal agencies in support of their design and construction needs. The Charleston District also provides support worldwide, as needed, to aid the nation during the Global War on Terrorism.

Lieutenant Colonel Trey Jordan was commissioned in the U.S. Army in July 1988. Prior to his assignment as the Commander of the Charleston District, LTC Jordan served as the Contingency Engineer Plans Officer for Headquarters, U.S. European Command in Stuttgart Germany.

LTC Jordan earned a Bachelor of Science and Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, and a Master's Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, RI. He is also a graduate of the Naval College of Command and Staff, Newport, RI, the Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced courses, Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia.

His previous assignments include: Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer for the 2nd Engineer Battalion (Mechanized), 2nd Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Camp Casey and Camp Giant, South Korea; Platoon Leader, Company Executive officer and Assistant Division Engineer LNO for the 13th Engineer Battalion, 7th Infantry Division (Light) at Fort Ord, CA; Battalion Maintenance Officer for the 14th Engineer Battalion (Corps) (Wheeled), I Corps at Fort Lewis, WA; Company Commander, Assistant S3 and S1 for the 41st Engineer Battalion, 10th Mountain Infantry Division (Light) at Fort Drum, NY; Engineer Company Trainer, Deputy Senior Engineer Trainer, and National Training Center Protocol Bureau Chief at Fort Irwin, CA, and he was also the Battalion S3 and Executive Officer for the 37th Engineer Battalion (Corps) (Airborne), XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, NC, and Mosul, Iraq, in support of the 101st Infantry Division (Air Assault) during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

LTC Jordan's awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Meritorious Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Ranger Tab, the Sapper Tab and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

MAJ Mike Ellicott was commissioned in August 1993. He has earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology, a Masters of Science in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri, Rolla, a Masters of Science in Defence Geographic Information from The Royal School of Military Survey in the United Kingdom, and a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, Newport, RI. He is also a graduate of the Naval College of Command and Staff, Newport, RI, the Army Command and General Staff College, Ft. Leavenworth, KS, and the Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced courses, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

His previous assignments include Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Assistant Battalion Plans Officer for the 65th Engineer Battalion (Light) at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and Cap Hatien, Haiti, Assistant Brigade Operations Officer, 20th Engineer Brigade (Corps)(Airborne), Battalion Logistics Officer and Company Commander of Alpha Company, 27th Engineer Battalion (Corps)(Airborne) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Senior Instructor in Geographical Information Systems and Remotely Sensed Information and Course Director for the Community Imagery Analyst Course at the National Geospatial Intelligence School at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Brigade Engineer for Regional Command East in Afghanistan with the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light), and Battalion Executive Officer for 3rd Special Troops Battalion in both Paktia and Nangarhar Provinces in Eastern Afghanistan.

William Stein became the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District's Deputy District Engineer for Project Management May 5, 2003. In his current position, he is responsible programmatic oversight of the planning, design and construction civil works, environmental, and Support for Others (SFO) projects for the District.

Before assuming his position with the Charleston District, Stein was the Acting Chief of the Business Management for the Corps' South Atlantic Division. During his 20 years with the South Atlantic Division, he served as Senior Program Manager and Team Leader of the Business Process Modernization, Acting Chief and Assistant Chief of the Military Program Management Division, and Chief of the Air Force Project Management Section. Stein worked as the Military Project Manager and Structural Engineer at the Corps' Savannah District, and as a Structural Engineer at the Baltimore District.

A native of New Jersey, Stein earned his bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1974 from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.

His awards include the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, two Superior Civilian Service Award, two Commander's Awards for Civilian Service, Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, and the Headquarters Air Force Project Manager of the Year. Stein is a Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia.

Mr. Laws became the US Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District's first Chief of Staff in June 2008. Prior to that time, beginning in June 1999, he lead as the District's Chief of Technical Services Division which executes the Engineering, Construction, and Operations Functions of the District.

Mr. Laws is a native of Mobile Alabama. He holds a BS Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Alabama, and a BA Degree in Industrial Design from Auburn University's School of Architecture. He is also a graduate of the Corps' Executive Development Program, an honor graduate of the Corps' Board of Engineers For Rivers and Harbors Water Resources Planning Associates Program, and a graduate and instructor for the Center for Army Civilian Leadership of the US Army Command and General Staff College. He serves as the Charleston District's Career Program Advisor for Engineers and Scientists, is a member of the Advisory Board to the University of South Carolina's College of Engineering, and the Partnership Board to the USC Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Mr. Laws has broad professional and leadership experience in both the private and public sector. Private sector experience includes facility, process, and materials handling design with International Paper Company's Central Design Office, and with Oyster Corporation as a Product Designer, then latter as the Corporate Special Projects Manager.

Mr Laws has lead in progressive positions of responsibility and supervision in all functional areas of the Corps' Mission. His extensive engineering, environmental, and economics background, includes leadership positions as Division Chief of every major functional area of the Corps, including Planning, Design, Construction, Operations and Regulatory Functions; as well as a strong background in project management. These previous leadership positions provided a diverse geographic exposure, including the Southeastern US, Pacific Northwest, Washington DC area, and overseas. His overseas experience reflects numerous special assignments in Latin American for both military and civil works projects.
