Recreation in the Mobile District

The Mobile District administers wildlife management lands on project sites in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Mississippi that provide habitat for many kinds of game and non-game wildlife. Many of these projects offer excellent public hunting opportunities. Additionally, there are several Corps-owned wildlife management areas in Mississippi and Alabama managed and operated by state wildlife management agencies as part of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Wildlife Mitigation Project.

All hunting activities at Mobile District projects must conform to Corps of Engineers restrictions, regulations and state laws which vary from project to project. Some guidelines will differ within areas of the same project. Hunting on some projects requires a written permit, while others are open to any legal hunter. The State of Alabama requires that each hunter possesses written permission from the landowner on his or her person while hunting. The Resource Project Offices listed below have local hunting guidelines available.

See our Hunting Program Information Summary for hunting opportunities, age requirements and general restrictions for each project.

The Site Manager or Wildlife Biologist at each project issues hunting permits and/or provides specific information about hunting on Corps lands. Where hunting permits are issued, they are free of charge.

If you have questions, write or call a project office or wildlife management area listed below.
