About The Program

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) strives to provide optimum training and development opportunities in order to assure maximum efficiency of civilian members in the performance of their official duties. The Advanced Degree Program in Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management has been developed to ensure that USACE maintains its standing as a leader in water resources planning and management. There exists a critical need to strengthen and broaden our skills to address the multiple objectives that are inherent in the planning and management process. USACE has worked closely with the Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) to develop this program in order to address the many challenges that the water resources planning and management community faces.

The Advanced Degree Program in Integrated Water Resources Planning and Management enables planners and other technical professionals to complete the requirements for a Master's or doctorate degree through flexible means and within a relatively compressed period of time. Additionally, core courses have been identified that are designed with the working professional in mind. The program consists of nine core courses that the participating universities have agreed to provide.
