Most Army Reserve Soldiers will in-process through the Transition Point located at FT Myer, Virginia. Reporting date to the Transition Point will be annotated on your mobilization orders. Uniform for in-processing is BDUs, ACUs. In-processing can be accomplished in one day, however two days should be planned.

Travel to the Transition Point

Individual soldiers are responsible for making all travel arrangements to the Transition Point. Air travel must be booked through Carlson Wagonlit at1-800-383-6732. Soldiers flying to National Capitol Region should fly into Reagan National Airport. Taxi and Metro service is available. Only transportation to and from the airport is a reimbursable expense.

Government lodging and meals are directed. Individual soldiers are responsible for making lodging arrangements through the Army’s Lodging Success Program at 1-800-GO-ARMY-1. Ask to be connected directly to FT Myer Billeting Office. If on-post billeting is not available, obtain a non-availability control number and secure commercial accommodations within close proximity to the installation.  When Government lodging is available Army Reserve Soldiers are required to utilize the local Government Dining Facility on post.  Any Army Reserve Soldier on mobilization orders can eat in the Dining Facility simply by presenting a copy of your mobilization orders and ID Card.

Soldiers on Operation Noble Eagle orders who opt to drive their POVs to the Transition Point and onto their duty assignment (CONUS only) will be reimbursed not to exceed the equivalent cost had the Government procured transportation between the ordered points.
