Being an Army Reserve Soldier and balancing a civilian job, family obligations, and military duties -- is tough enough.  It gets a little bit tougher when you're called up to active duty. This section will give you information on what it all means, what you should prepare for, and how you and your family can handle the situation. Serving your country is your duty and privilege -- be sure to take care of yourself and your family.

What is Mobilization and Deployment?

Legal Preparation - Make sure you and your family are taken care of.

Financial Preparation - Know what your pay entitlements are.

What Extra Pays Do I Receive? - When you're called up, you become eligible for special pays.

Medical Benefits - When you're called up to active duty, you and your family become eligible for medical benefits.

Preparation for Emergencies - Be sure your family is equipped to handle anything in your absence.

Army One Source (AOS) - supplements existing family programs. The program is a 24-hour, seven days a week toll free information and referral telephone line and internet/Web based service available to active, mobilized reserves, deployed civilians and their families worldwide. AOS provides information ranging from every day concerns to deployments/reintegration issues.

Spouse's Handbook - designed to assist spouses learn about the Army and better understand their soldier's mission.

Army Knowledge Online (AKO). All soldiers are required to obtain a global email address through AKO.  If you do not currently have an account, use the link to obtain instructions and register.

Self-Service Portal. Army Reserve Soldiers can view and update personal contact data; be alerted on events or actions associated with maintaining retention and readiness status; display personal career information such as retirement points and evaluation history; and view selected soldier documents.

Personnel Policy Guidance (PPG). ODCSPER has consolidate document for both Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom.
