If you submitted an abstract, you will be notified of your acceptance status in February 2009. All presenters are required to pay registration fees and all associated travel expenses.
Conference Tracks
Sessions will be organized around three conference tracks:
- Coastal communities adapting to changing conditions — example sessions in this track include land development, smart growth, water quality and quantity, climate change, and coastal hazards.
- Conservation in the face of change — example sessions in this track include habitat restoration, resource conservation, and ecosystem-based management.
- Ocean and Great Lakes planning for changing human uses — example sessions in this track include alternative and renewable energy, sediment management, ports and harbors, regional ocean governance, and ocean observing systems.
Within each track, presentations should emphasize one of four focus areas:
- Research and monitoring
- Tools and training
- Education and outreach
- Policy and evaluation
Timeline
- June 2008 – Call for abstracts issued
- November 21, 2008 – Abstract submissions due
- February 2009 – Participants notified of their acceptance status
