Marine Education Center
FPL has a variety of Marine Education Programs. The College of Turtle Knowledge located at the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant offers an interactive exhibit to educated the public about endangered sea turtles. FPL also offers public turtle walks in the summer during sea turtle nesting season.
Recycling
The objective of the FPL recycling initiative is to maximize opportunities to recycle, reuse, refurbish and reduce all waste. The initiative includes focus on material and process alternatives that reduce, or eliminate the environmental impact of producing electricity.
Environmental Education
Environmental awareness is important to FPL, we offer educational materials to the public on many different endangered species found in Florida. We work closely with educators, environmental organizations, and Federal and State agencies to develop programs that promote environmental education.
