Community Outreach
| Buildsmart for Humanity |
| Through FPL’s regional partnership with Habitat for Humanity, FPL has sponsored 14 Habitat homes and incorporated the BuildSmart® energy conservation features into almost 200 Habitat for Humanity homes. BuildSmart homes are inspected and certified by trained FPL energy experts and are up to 30 percent more energy efficient than homes not built to the program’s standards. |
| Community Ambassadors Program |
The Community Ambassadors Program encourages volunteerism for all FPL employees, FPL retirees, and their family members in their local communities. One component is the Community Outreach Teams, composed of FPL employees who will deliver concise and compelling presentations before neighborhood and community organizations about key FPL initiatives and other issues important to the energy industry and our customers. Another component is the Community Volunteer Corps. The CVC is composed of FPL employees, retirees and their family members who are committed to the community through their personal involvement in education, environmental, human services and community development projects. |
