Homeland Security
Protecting our homeland is one of the most important jobs a member of Congress can undertake. Ensuring that all the agencies that deal with protection have the right amount of money and enforcement authority is vital.
The Homeland Security Department was created by reorganization after the tragedy of 9/11 and has been focusing on strengthening our nation's readiness for attacks from within and without. In addition, Homeland Security must deal with immigration issues, preparing first responders, and transportation security.
Congressman Westmoreland supports ensuring the Department of Homeland Security has all the resources necessary to protect our nation from attack.
