STUDENT ZONE

Welcome to the Student Zone!  Whether you are doing research for a school project or just looking to learn more about how our government works, I hope this page will be helpful.  I’ve included some of the most frequently asked questions that I receive from students  along with my answers, and don’t forget to check out some interesting links.

Academy Nominations:
Each year I have the honor of nominating outstanding young Nevadans to attend one of our nation's four military service academies. My office selects nominees based on the recommendations of a Service Academy Selection Advisory Panel that interviews and evaluates qualified candidates.

Internships:
Internships on Capitol Hill provide college students the unique opportunity to learn about our country's legislative process, our government, and how Nevada is represented in the United States Senate. Interns in my office are generally Nevadans who are at least 18 years of age and have completed one year of college. My program consists of intern sessions in the spring, summer, and fall.

Internships in my state offices are also available. Applications from students who are at least in their junior year of high school are welcome.
