Privacy Policy
I hope you find the information
contained in my web site useful.
I recognize that many Americans
are concerned about protecting
their personal privacy in an
electronic age. Therefore, I
have established a privacy
policy in an effort to inform
visitors about how my office and
the House of Representatives
handle personal information
received electronically.
My office will not sell, trade,
share or otherwise transfer any
information to any group or
individual outside of my office.
Certain exceptions apply to this
policy including: (1) official
requests from a federal, state
or local law enforcement agency
and (2) any submission that
constitutes a physical, illegal
or harassing threat will be
provided to the appropriate law
enforcement officials.
The only information available
to me about you as an individual
Internet user is what you choose
to send me. I ask e-mail
correspondents to provide their
name and mailing address in
order to verify residency in the
3rd Congressional District of
Virginia and to be able to
send responses via U.S. mail.
Your name and address is only
used to provide a response to
your concerns. Your comments or
inquiries may be shared with
relevant federal agencies in
order to answer your direct
concerns.
Please be aware that the privacy
policies of the U.S. House of
Representatives
(http://www.house.gov/house/privacy.html),
which hosts this site, also
apply to my site. The
House web service collects and
stores information about the
domain and Internet address
through which a user accesses
the Internet and the date and
time of the user's visit to
House web pages. This
information is used only to
measure traffic and to better
serve users by improving the
design of the site and
identifying system performance
or problem areas. The
House web service does not
obtain personally-identifying
information about you when you
visit my site.
I believe that my visitors'
right to privacy is a
responsibility of my office. The
purpose of this site is to
better serve the citizens of
the 3rd Congressional
District of Virginia by ensuring clear,
up-to-date information about
activities by the federal
government.
