Governor's Task Force on the Future of Services to Seniors and People with Disabilities

Governor John A. Kitzhaber, M.D. formed the Governor’s Task Force on the Future of Services to Seniors and People with Disabilities with Executive Order Number EO 01-10 on June 30, 2001. The purpose of the Task Force is to help Oregon prepare for the aging of the Baby Boom Generation and the growth in the numbers of people with significant disabilities. The Task Force was charged with:

1. Developing a long range plan on the future of services to seniors and people with disabilities;
2. Considering the different types of long term care services necessary to meet the needs of Oregon’s aging population;
3. Reviewing and recommending legislative actions and levels of funding necessary to implement the long range plan; and
4. Reviewing the effectiveness of such recommendations and making an annual report to the Governor and the Legislature to detail findings and advice to appropriate agencies on any recommended changes.
