List of Credit Counseling Agencies Approved Pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 111

 

March 2008

  • The U.S. Trustee Program has extended the temporary waiver of the credit counseling requirement for bankruptcy filers in the Eastern District of Louisiana due to the continued effects of Hurricane Katrina.

  • The waivers of the credit counseling requirement for bankruptcy filers in the Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and the Southern District of Mississippi have been terminated.  To be eligible to file for bankruptcy relief on or after March 10, 2008, in these three districts, individuals are required to obtain pre-bankruptcy credit counseling in accordance with 11 U.S.C. § 109(h)(1).
