Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology program
The Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology program focuses on the identification, intervention and prevention of occupational and environmental illnesses and injuries to Oregonians. We conduct surveillance on reportable environmental illnesses and targeted occupational injuries and diseases, and provide information and education on preventive strategies about environmental health risks to the public and health providers. Our mission is to improve the safety and health status of all Oregonians.

Planning for a statewide network that will connect environmental hazards, exposures, and health outcome data in the state.
Environmental Assessment
Working to evaluate and prevent exposure to hazardous substances from industrial waste sites, unplanned releases of toxic substances, and other sources of pollution present in Oregon's environment.
Prevention
Preventing Illness and Injury
Partnering with industry, labor, researchers, state and federal agencies to share data, find trends in workplace injuries, and implement prevention strategies.
Identifying Pesticide Risks
Investigating reports of acute illness or injury related to recent pesticide exposures.
