Getting ready to announce new GW swag store in Dec newsletter. http://www.cafepress.com/Gr... Who WOULDN'T want that bib?
furiously adding our winter 2009 titles to our website.
@susanmpls I have GOT to get on that mailing list...
"All of It Singing: New and Selected Poems" by Linda Gregg has been named a Best Book of 2008 by the L.A. Times: http://tinyurl.com/56n3tl
@unbridledbooks You know, I had an avocado yesterday, & I doubted it b/c it was a bit gray on the inside. Is that normal? I'm not dead.
@bethfishreads @megmagdah I'm on coffee, too. I think it's going to explode in my face in one giant, sugar/caffeine-induced breakdown. Alas.
Feeling really, really swamped. Eating lots of chocolate to help with efficiency.
YES! Now I can safely leave the lucrative publishing world & follow my lifelong dream of becoming a seismologist: http://tinyurl.com/6flzvc
@frontmatter @annkingman W/Mena Suvari as Phlox! FAIL. I haven't seen it. P. Sarsgaard as Cleveland might be good. http://tinyurl.com/mjp4t
@TomThompson Thank you! We're pretty thrilled about the partnership.
@ghermangirl You are SOOO right, Caroline. Move to Minnesota, stat.
@AnnKingman Mysteries of P'burgh is amazing (and apparently was made into a really bad movie...). I don't think Chabon's had a bad book yet.
Listen up, authors: Graywolf Press's submission guidelines are changing drastically on 1/1/09. See them here: http://tinyurl.com/n6372
@PaulaatAME Yowza. 7.5 million for a REPRINT? I just can't get into the vampire thing. I'm a Harry Potter person through and through.
Sort of staying clear of Twitter today b/c the pub news gets bleaker by the hr. Feeling nice & safe here in St. Paul, land of the nonprofit!
More big news from the publishing sector:http://tinyurl.com/5v6yo4
@AlgonquinBooks Thanks! There's a 1-line poem from ML called "You have my eyes": "Give them back." I think of it when I look at my son.
Excellent news: Elegy by Mary Jo Bang and Modern Life by Matthea Harvey were named NYT Notable Books of 2008 (though they were 2007 titles).
digging through my inbox after a long weekend...I anticipate more interesting tweets later today.
