The Center for Rural Development The Center for Rural Development is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is improving the quality of life for individuals in its 42 county service region by providing, promoting, and supporting innovative and sustainable community development solutions.
PRIDE PRIDE, or Personal Responsibility In a Desirable Environment, serves 38 counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky. PRIDE brings together volunteers with the resources of federal, state, and local governments in order to clean the region’s waterways, end illegal trash dumps, and promote environmental awareness and education, while renewing pride in the region.
SEKTDA The Southern and Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development Association (SEKTDA) is a non-profit organization created in 1987 to promote, expand, develop and market the existing and potential tourism industry throughout Southern and Eastern Kentucky in an effort to contribute to the economic and cultural growth of the region.
UNITE UNITE, or Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education, is a multi-faceted, comprehensive approach to combating drugs in eastern and southern Kentucky focusing on investigations, treatment, and education.
SKED The Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation (SKED) is a community development organization formed in 1986 to create employment opportunities in a 27-county service area in Southeast Kentucky. It accomplishes this mission by recruiting new businesses, making direct loans, and providing economic development services to local communities.
Rogers Scholar Program The Rogers Scholars Program is an intensive one week summer session for rising high school juniors from 42 counties in Southern and Eastern Kentucky that emphasizes technological skills development and fosters an entrepreneurial spirit, leadership and commitment to rural Kentucky.
Kentucky Council of Area Development Districts Kentucky has 15 Area Development Districts that bring local civic and government leaders together to accomplish major objectives and take advantage of opportunities which cannot be achieved or realized by those governments acting alone.
