Activities: Legal Rights

USAID acts to promote and increase the ability of women and men to live and work in societies that enact and enforce legislation to protect women’s rights. The WID Office approach to women’s legal rights includes: educating women and men on women’s legal, economic, and political rights and barriers to these rights; strengthening the ability of organizations to lobby more effectively for basic improved women’s rights; and enhancing the capacity of institutions to enforce legislation and practice in a gender-equitable manner.
