Water Quality and Aquatic Biology Information for Idaho

Introduction

USGS technician filters a water sample for testing at the USGS National Water Quality Laboratory
The USGS collects and analyzes chemical, physical, and biological properties of water across the Nation. At selected surface-water and ground-water sites, the USGS maintains instruments that continuously record physical and chemical characteristics of the water including pH, specific conductance, temperature, dissolved oxygen, and percent dissolved-oxygen saturation. In addition, recent USGS studies have examined the water quality of the Coeur d'Alene Basin and the Lower Boise River.
