Office of Special Counsel for Immigration Related Unfair Employment Practices

  • Immigration Related Employment Discrimination Public Education Program, Grant Announcement

    The Office of Special Counsel for Immigration Related Unfair Employment Practices of the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Dept. of Justice has put out a grant announcement for its Immigration Related Employment Discrimination Public Education Program. The purpose of this program is to support public education programs on the rights afforded potential victims of employment discrimination and the responsibilities of employers under the anti-discrimination provision of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. §1324b. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to educate workers, employers and/or the general public about the anti-discrimination provision of the INA. Faith-based and other community organizations are eligible and encouraged to apply. Grants will range in size from $35,000 to $100,000. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2008.
