American Red Cross

  • Educate your audience about being prepared for and recovering from floods, hurricanes, tornados or wildfires.
  • Air PSAs in support of the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Downloadable PSAs are available above and live-read copy can be found here.
  • Encourage your audience to make a donation to the Red Cross as a part of the Text2Help Program. Most wireless subscribers in the U.S. can donate $5 to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund by texting “GIVE” to 24357 (2HELP). More information on the program is available here .
  • TV stations can create a crawl for Text2Help in support of the Disaster Relief Fund using the suggested text: "Donate $5 to the Red Cross by texting "GIVE" to 24357".
  • Radio stations can use the following live-read copy:
    DISASTER RELIEF FUND APPEAL – TEXT 2 HELP (:15)
    PLEASE TEXT 2 HELP DISASTER VICTIMS. TEXT THE WORD “GIVE” TO THE NUMBER 24357 AND DONATE FIVE DOLLARS TO THE RED CROSS DISASTER RELIEF FUND. THAT’S G-I-V-E TO THE NUMBER 24357.

Federal Emergency Management Aid (FEMA)
Ensure your community has the necessary tools to help prepare themselves for a hurricane with these helpful resources from FEMA.

U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)
Public service materials are available above from public health experts at HHS on how to stay safe and cope before, during and after a disaster. The PSAs and live read copy cover points such as preparing for a hurricane, evacuation, staying safe in a home, emergency wound care, food and drug safety, and avoiding carbon monoxide poisoning when power is out.
