Explore the Virtual Visitor Center
The Virtual Visitor Center website is intended for the general public, particularly students and teachers. Anyone with an interest in the science we study at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center and the tools we use in that study is invited to explore this web site -- and take a tour of our physical site or stop by the real visitor center.

Exploring Particles and Interactions
- Electron Gamma
Shower...Explained
- Electron Gamma Shower (EGS) is the name of a simulation program used to study the interactions of electrons, positrons (anti-electrons) and photons (gamma rays) in various types of material. Learn more about EGS, take a guided tour, complete lab activities, use the simulation tool to create EGS images, and find out how EGS is used in real world applications.
- FGST LAT
- This interactive area contains a simulator for the Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope's (FGST, formerly GLAST) main instrument, the Large Area Telescope (LAT).
- High energy cosmic
rays
- Learn about High Energy cosmic rays, how the SLAC Cosmic Ray Detector works, take a guided tour of the Data Center.
Quick Bits
