The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center is temporarily suspending its tour program effective March 1, 2008. We are doing this because the scientific program at the laboratory is shifting its primary focus from high energy physics to photon science and we also have a major construction project on site which has significantly limited the tour destinations.
We plan to use this temporary suspension to work on re-energizing our tour program so it more accurately reflects the research we are doing at SLAC. This action will also assist the lab in addressing the budget shortfall we are experiencing in FY2008. We currently plan on offering tours to the community in 2009.
