We are committed to increasing awareness of asthma, environmental asthma triggers and environmental asthma management. One way we help educate the public about asthma is through an aggressive media campaign. We have developed a wide variety of media materials, including Public Service Announcements (PSAs), video news releases (VNRs), fact sheets and tips for managing asthma so that our asthma partners and media outlets can easily access educational resources and make them available to the public via television, print, radio, Internet and other outlets.
To promote asthma awareness in your community, secure commitments from your local media (radio, television, newspaper) to air asthma PSAs or

To increase public understanding of asthma, EPA joins with organizations around the world each May during Asthma Awareness Month in an outreach campaign to raise awareness of the number of people living with asthma, the health effects of asthma and ways to manage asthma. EPA develops a wide variety of materials and supports public events across the country designed to attract interest and increase understanding of asthma. EPA provides event planning ideas, sample proclamations and letters to the editor and educational materials for distribution in communities throughout the U.S. Join EPA and thousands of other organizations this year to promote awareness of asthma in your community.
