Freight Infrastructure
The Office of Freight Management and Operations is responsible for promoting investment in cost-effective infrastructure for the efficient movement of freight. This responsibility includes technical advice to others offices of the Federal Highway Administration and its partners and oversight of four programs authorized by the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). The four programs are 1) Projects of National and Regional Significance, 2) National Corridor Infrastructure Improvement Program, 3) Freight Intermodal Distribution Pilot Program, and 4) Truck Parking Facilities Program.
