LOCAL ARTS AGENCIES
Alliance of New York State Arts Organizations (Alliance of New York

To support Community Action Teams of cultural and economic development
professionals. The teams will work within rural, suburban, and urban communities
in New York state to develop strategies to improve resources for the arts
and cultural industry.
Americans for the Arts, Inc.

To support the Strategic Alliances and Partnerships Initiative. Developed
in response to a 2003 Americans for the Arts (AFTA) strategic planning
process, this initiative will better focus the organization's longstanding
efforts to strengthen the work of its core constituency -- nearly 4,000
local arts agencies located throughout the country.

To support a series of statewide cultural tourism meetings and the publication
of a cultural tourism handbook and cultural guide. Project activity will
provide opportunities for New Jersey arts groups to interact with tourism
service providers to strengthen and expand cultural tourism partnerships.

of Greater Kansas City)

To support the Collaborative Cultural Audience Development Initiative.
Selected arts organizations within the Council's Missouri and Kansas service
area will incorporate a coordinated audience development strategy into
their marketing plans.

To support Peripheral Vision: A New Look at Community. The project will
focus on bringing a range of local arts agencies in Massachusetts together
with local government and community-based organizations to collaborate
on enhancing quality of life issues.

To support the Cultural Enterprise Network. The program is designed to
facilitate the earned-income capabilities of select nonprofit arts organizations
in the Bronx.

To support the Design Arts Program (DAP) and a series of facilitated workshops
on best practices and new strategies to enhance local leadership in managing
civic design projects. The program will facilitate partnerships between
municipalities and nonprofit organizations to implement projects throughout
Broward County that improve the aesthetics of the region's built environment.

To support Arts Card, an entrepreneurial arts marketing tool using new
technology to introduce audiences to the arts. Similar to a retail gift
card, an arts card will be redeemable at participating arts organizations
throughout King County.
City of Austin, Texas

To support a community cultural planning process, including an initial
assessment and the development of a culminating action plan. The inclusive,
community-wide planning process will include both nonprofit and commercial
arts organizations in the development of a plan to more effectively support
local nonprofit art resources.

To support Growing the Arts in Lincoln. The series of workshops and meetings
will enhance the capacity of local arts organizations and individual artists.

To support the Community Anchor Program (CAP). Selected Los Angeles County
arts organizations will compete for grant awards to further develop and
enhance artistic resources and to receive technical assistance through
individualized coaching in human resource and board management issues.
Michigan Association of Community Arts Agencies
Ann Arbor, MI
$20,000
To support a series of statewide and regional conferences focusing on
arts management, community development, and leadership initiatives. Michigan
Association of Community Arts Agencies (MACAA) provides direct services
to nearly 3,000 arts and cultural organizations located in Michigan's
83 counties.
South Dakotans for the Arts (consortium)

To support the consortium project, Prairie Arts Management Institute (PAMI).
In partnership with the Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies,
PAMI provides intensive training for executive directors and staff of
small and mid-sized organizations located primarily within the prairie
states of Middle America.
United Arts of Central Florida, Inc.

To support the Central Florida Cultural Audience Development Initiative.
The project will include market branding, promotion, and further development
of strategies that will allow collaborating nonprofit organizations in
Central Florida to continue to expand their audiences.
Westchester Arts Council (consortium)
White Plains, NY
$15,000
To support a consortium project of marketing initiatives designed to assist
building audiences for the arts through cultural tourism partnerships.
In association with the Westchester County Office of Tourism, the Council
will expand its multi-faceted marketing initiatives using improved resources
for print, Web, e-mail, and visitor centers.
