To support commissioning and programmatic activities for the development
of works by artists of color. The second phase of a three-year initiative
titled Waterworks will involve performing and multidisciplinary artists.

To support the Beyond Broadway Series. Participating artists will include
jazz violinist Regina Carter, choreographers Trisha Brown and Bill T.
Jones performing world premieres, and composers/musicians Daniel Bernard
Romain and Philip Glass.

To support a consortium project to commission a multimedia work titled
Five Streams. In a collaboration with MassMOCA, director/filmmaker
Ibrahim Quraishi, sound artist DJ Spooky, choreographer Paul Shah, and
visual artist Shahzia Sikander will create a work that weaves interlocking
narratives drawn from three canonical works of Hindu and Indo-Islamic
literature.

To support the annual Next Wave Festival. Now in its 21st year, the festival
will feature U.S. artists who have been nurtured by the Brooklyn Academy
of Music and will present new works by international artists.
Center for Cultural Exchange

To support a commissioning, production, and touring initiative titled
Unintended Consequences. Director Marty Pottenger will create and direct
a multimedia performance based on the repercussions of September 11, 2001,
on refugee and immigrant communities in Maine.
City Parks Foundation

To support New Works, New Voices 2005 for the 20th anniversary of the
Central Park Summerstage program. The project will be a continuation of
annual presentations of new cross-disciplinary work or debut presentations
by emerging, regional, and international artists.
Flynn Theatre for the Performing Arts, Ltd.

To support the commissioning and presentation of new and existing works.
Projects will include a collaboration between choreographer Ron Brown
and singer/composer Nnenna Freelon, Big Dance Theatre, choreographer Cathy
Weis, and theater companies Mabou Mines and Penumbra Theatre.

To support performances and related activities of Lincoln Center Festival
2005. The summer festival will feature traditional and contemporary multidisciplinary
works as well as symposia and lectures that inform the presentations.

To support the Cultura del Lobo performance series and residency activities
focusing on contemporary work. The Cultural Affairs Department at Miami-Dade
Community College will produce and present new and culturally specific
works with an emphasis on Latin American and Caribbean cultures.

To support the development and presentation of new performing arts projects.
Projects will include performances, residencies, conferences, an exhibit,
discussions, a civics institute, and a Chautauqua Assembly.

To support the New Performance Series. Ancillary activities such as master
classes, post-performance question-and-answer sessions, panels, and workshops
also are planned.

To support the PAC/edge Performance Festival, a six-week series that includes
performances, exhibitions, and educational activities. The festival is
designed to explore and celebrate the intersections between theater, dance,
creative writing, performance, and the humanities.

To support New Works Rooted in Old World Traditions. The project will
present the reinterpretations of classic and traditional art forms through
new contemporary performing arts productions at the Mondavi Center.

Festival USA will produce and present a range of multidisciplinary work,
juxtaposing traditional repertoire with the new, performed by both established
and emerging artists.

To support Conflict and Creativity. The series of performances and community
conversations will explore the impact of political and social turmoil
on young foreign artists from China, Israel, Ireland, and Cuba.
