ENERGY STAR Residential Windows, Doors and Skylights Criteria Change 2005
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is pleased to announce an amended ENERGY STAR criteria for Windows, Doors, and Skylights (dated 06/06/05), which will go into effect on September 19, 2005.
Below is the amended criteria along with a letter from DOE that outlines the process and reasoning behind amending the existing criteria.

ENERGY STAR Residential Windows, Doors and Skylights Criteria Change 2003
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced a final ENERGY STAR for Windows, Doors, and Skylights specification on May 28, 2003. The specification went into effect September 29, 2003 and set four climate zones for windows, doors, and skylights. Subsequently, the specification was amended on May 17, 2005 to allow for equivalent performance-based criteria in the South/Central and Southern Zones. The amended criteria went into effect on September 15, 2005.
