Data Analysis System (DAS) - Generate Data Tables and Correlation Matrices
Generate analytical tables of data (percentages, means, and sums) and correlations matrices using datasets
in the following categories:
- Postsecondary Institution Data
- Postsecondary Students
- Postsecondary Faculty
- High School Cohorts
- Early Childhood and Household Studies
- Create group of institutions to be included in the table by specifying criteria.
- Examine groups of institutions (not individual schools) in terms of percentages, means, and sums.
|
In the Tables mode, the DAS system will produce a table of estimates, corresponding standard errors
calculated by taking into account the complex sampling designs used in NCES surveys, and weighted sample
sizes for the estimates.
|
In the Correlations mode, the DAS will produce a correlation matrix that can be used for linear regression
models. The design effects for each variable are included in the output. Since statistical procedures generally
compute regression coefficients based on a simple random sample assumptions, the standard errors must be adjusted
with the design effect to take into account the stratified sampling method used in NCES surveys.
