Air Toxics Program

Air toxics are hazardous air pollutants that may cause cancer birth defects, or other serious health problems. Under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, EPA is required to regulate emissions of 188 hazardous air pollutants. These pollutants can come from a variety of sources including, indoor air, point sources (large sources), area sources (smaller sources), and mobile sources. EPA Region 10 (Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington) is working in partnership with state, local and tribal authorities to reduce the emission of hazardous air pollution from all sources in order to better protect public health and the environment in our region.

For additional information on the EPA Region 10 Air Toxics Program, feel free to contact us or our state, local and tribal air toxics partners.
