According to a report published by Nielsen/NetRatings, Swedes are the busiest e-commerce users in Europe. Sweden tops the list by 26 percent, followed by Switzerland 17 percent and Denmark 16 percent. The average use in Europe is nine percent. Swedish shoppers prefer to buy from Swedish companies. Among the top 15 most visited e-commerce sites, only two were foreign, Amazon and e-Bay.

In May, e-commerce sites had a total of 697,799 visits by Swedes. Compared to December, a busy shopping month, this was a 16 percent decrease. The most visited sites was Ginza.se, a record and CD site, followed by qxi.se, an auction site; blocket.se, a small item and collectible site; and bol.se, a book and record site.

The survey, which was based on Internet use from the home, was based on replies from 6,500 persons.
