to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Switzerland
invests more per capita than any other country in the world.
According to the European Information Technology Observatory
(EITO), in 2005 Switzerland spent approximately USD 3,350 per
capita, compared to second ranked Sweden that is spending
approximately USD 3,050 per capita, or the United States, ranked
sixth with USD 2,550 per capita. This growth is expected to
accelerate even more in the years to come. Some market insiders
expect Swiss ICT spending to exceed USD 4,300 in 2007, a stunning
30% increase compared with 2005.
