Projects

  • Provide technical, analytical, and project management support to the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) in the planning, development, operation, and evaluation of passenger rail and maglev systems and railroad grade crossing safety improvement research.

  • Support FRA, Office of Safety, in the development and refinement of regulations and standards for passenger rail and maglev systems.

  • Perform analyses of selected intracity corridors, including forecasting of corridor travel (people and freight) and comparison/evaluation of various transportation alternatives (maglev, rail, etc.), along with environmental and energy impacts for the FTA.

  • Apply electronic technology and software safety assurance expertise to the evaluation, assessment, and development of command, control, and monitoring system equipment for advanced train and maglev control systems.
