Reservation Guidelines for Puddles the Blue Goose
There are now three puddles costumes for you to use! If you would like to see a picture of the new costume, it can be emailed to you.

  New Puddles Costume

E-MAIL RESERVATIONS ARE PREFERRED AND RECEIVE FIRST CONSIDERATION.

  • Reservations will be accepted up to three months in advance of your event. Puddles is in high demand for certain dates and events, and we will work to ensure that each station has an equal opportunity to use the costumes. We will do our best to create a confirmed schedule which accommodates as many users as possible. Please limit your Puddles requests to no further than three months in advance. For example, if your event is on August 15, you may make a request for Puddles on, or anytime after, May 15.

E-mail reservations are preferred and receive first consideration...they are easier to track and administer, and help us to serve you better.

E-mail requests to the Resource Center librarian at Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Currently this is sarah_inouye@fws.gov.

When making a request, please include contact name, station, address, phone number, and name and date of the event. If possible, please include an alternate date.

The resource librarian will send a confirmation and will coordinate with individual stations to facilitate the movements of Puddles.

MN Valley will pay shipping costs to designated stations. After using Puddles, the station will pay shipping costs back to MN Valley or another destination.

Reservations will be made on a first-come/first serve basis. If multiple requests are received for the same day, priority will be given to Centennial Focus refuges and national events.

  • Scheduling disputes will be resolved by the Centennial Coordinator in the Region 3 Regional Office.

Please remember we only have three costumes! If one becomes damaged, or is not shipped to the next destination on time, the outreach plans of other stations will be compromised. You are responsible for the costume while it is at your station. High demand for the costume can create some narrow shipping windows, so please take good care of it and keep it moving along. Please refer to the Puddles Costume Guidelines [.pdf format] for wash and care instructions which were previously distributed. If you would like a copy of these guidelines, just let us know!
