TAIWAN - *Passport, onward/return ticket, and valid visa for next destination, if applicable, required. Visa not required for stay of up to 30 days, no extensions if traveling on the visa waiver program. Travelers arriving in Taiwan with passports valid for 6 months or more and valid Taiwan visas may be admitted for up to 180 days. Visa requires 1 application form, two recent photos, and documentation to verify purpose of visit. $100 processing fee for all U.S. applicants, $36 fee for expedited processing. Foreigners applying for resident visas/ work permit must be tested for HIV; U.S. results are not accepted. Testing is also required for anyone staying over 90 days for any reason. TAJIKISTAN - *Passport and visa required. Travelers must obtain visas before leaving for Tajikistan. Visas may be obtained from Tajik embassies or consulates abroad or upon arrival at Dushanbe airport only with prior arrangement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Tajikstan. Travelers staying longer than 3 days must obtain registration stamps at the MFA. Visa requires 1 application form, 2 passport sized photos, valid passport (6 months validity remaining), letter of request from company or travel agency, and appropriate fee. Visa fee $80 for 2 weeks; $160 for 1 month; $270 for 3 months (single entry) $380 (multiple entry); $300 for 6 months (single entry) $480 (multiple entry); and $320 for 1 year (single entry), $600 1 year (multiple-entry). Travelers who intend to visit Tajikistan should also obtain double-entry Russian, Kazakh, or Uzbek visas prior to departure, depending on intended transit points. TANZANIA - *Passport and visa required. Single- and multiple-entry tourist visas are valid for 3 months. Tourist visa requires 1 application with a valid passport (minimum six months validity), 1 recent passport sized photo, $50 fee for six months single entry, and $60 for 3 months multiple entry. Business visa, for a stay of up to 2 months, requires 1 application form, 1 photo, and $200 fee (no personal checks). Business visa requires invitation letter from Tanzanian company. All visas require proof of sufficient funds and proof of onward/return ticket. THAILAND - *Passport required. Tourists staying no longer than 30 days do not need a visa. For longer stays, obtain a visa in advance. Visa requires 1 application form, 2 photos, postage for return of passport by mail, and appropriate fee. Transit visa, for stay of up to 30 days, $20 per entry fee, or tourist visa, for stay of up to 60 days, $25 per entry fee. Extensions may be applied for in Thailand. Transit and tourist visas require copy of airline ticket or itinerary. Business visas, valid up to 90 days, require $20 entry fee or $40 fee for multiple entry and company letter (on letterhead) stating purpose of visit, name of company, and address of counterpart in Thailand. TOGO - *Passport and visa required. All types of visas (except diplomatic) require 3 application forms, 3 photos, proof of sufficient funds, and $45 to $100 fee. TONGA - *Passport and onward/return ticket required. Visa not required for stay of up to 30 days. HIV testing required for stays exceeding 6 months. Tonga collects a departure tax. TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - *Passport and onward/return ticket required. Visa not required for tourist/business stay of up to 90 days. Work visas required for compensated and non-compensated employment, including missionary work. Visa requires 1 completed form, 1 photo and a valid passport. Business visa requires a company letter. TUNISIA - *Passport and onward/return ticket required. Visas not required for tourist/business stay up to 4 months. For longer visits, Americans need a residence permit, which may be requested and obtained from the central police station of the district of residence. TURKEY - *Passport and visa required. Visas can be obtained at Turkish border crossing points for tourist/business visits of up to 3 months or through a Turkish consular office in the U.S. Visa requires a completed application form and a passport with a minimum validity of 3 months. Visa fee is $20 for single entry and $65 for multiple entry (cash or money order only). Visa must be obtained in advance for longer stays and for study, research, or employment purposes. Visa requires your valid passport, 1 completed application form, and SASE. TURKMENISTAN - *Passport and visa required. Visa requires 2 application forms, 2 photos, and letter of invitation. Business visa requires 1 application, 1 photo, and cover letter of invitation. Visas are available in a variety of time periods, and fees are paid according to the type of visa and processing time needed. HIV test required for foreigners staying longer than 3 months.
