The International Plastics Showcase 2009 (June 22-26, Chicago, IL)

NPE takes place every three years, when it brings together a cross section of virtually the entire plastics industry for a global technology exchange. With nearly 2,000 exhibiting companies from around the world, NPE2009 will be the showcase for manufacturers of machinery and ancillary equipment, producers of plastics resins and additives, mold makers, instrumentation and automation companies, and numerous other specialists involved in plastics manufacturing, marketing and end use. International companies attend and exhibit at NPE to sell their products and to make purchasing agreements with American suppliers located “across the aisle”. Virtually all of the major U.S. suppliers of plastics technology, equipment and raw materials will be at NPE2009 and looking to export or establish connections with firms from outside the U.S.

The broad-based value of NPE, started in 1946, is demonstrated by its steady growth both in terms of the number of exhibitors and floor space taken by participating companies and in the size and makeup of attendees. NPE2009 will be broader in scope than any previous NPE thanks to the co-location of NPE with the Society of Plastics Engineers’ (SPE’s) ANTEC™ and MoldMaking Expo 2009, Federation of Societies Coatings Technology (FCST) Executive Summit.

Attendees will find new pavilions for emerging technologies and special industry sectors, more theaters for presentations and demonstrations, a new International Plastics Design Competition, and an expanded education program. With a focus on technology exchange, the show will feature specialty pavilions dedicated to industry sectors such as design engineering, thermoforming, compressed air, medical devices, fluoropolymers, TPE-elastomers and rotational molding.

NPE is produced by The Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI). Founded in 1937, SPI is the trade association representing the third largest manufacturing industry in the United States.  SPI’s members represent the entire plastics industry supply chain, including processors, machinery and equipment manufacturers and raw material suppliers.  The U.S. Plastics industry directly employs 1.1 million workers and provides more than $379 billion in annual shipments.
