Report Organization The Report on the Environment is organized into five chapters that capture different aspects of the environment (air, water, land, human health, and ecological condition). Indicators within each chapter are organized by priority questions there were selected on their relevance to EPA?s mission. The Report on the Environment: Highlights of National Trends, which features a subset of indicators from the more comprehensive ROE, is organized around 25 topics. The subset of indicators were selected for inclusion based on their importance to the public and scientists, as well as their ability to answer a series of questions about the environment.
