Volpe Center's GIS Capabilities

The Volpe Center, is equipped with the most up-to-date and advanced hardware and GIS software. The hardware used for GIS is:

The Volpe Center also has four transportation GIS professionals, each with over 10 years of experience working in the field of GIS. The GIS staff has expertise working with the full range of ESRI GIS products, TransCad, Maptitude, and relational databases. The staffs' skills also include programming in the languages of Java, Visual Basic, Perl, ArcObjects, AML, and Avenue.

The Volpe Center's highly experienced GIS staff combined with advanced hardware and software allows the Center to offer the full range of GIS capabilities for transportation applications. The Center is equipped to produce high quality work including data storage and integration, sophisticated mapping, data analysis, application development, and web-based mapping.
