Jon Davler Success Story

L.A. Splash, based in City of Industry, California, markets a comprehensive range of cosmetics in over 900 vivid colors.  Made in the U.S.A. product lines include liquid eyeliner, lip-gloss, mascara, mineral blush, mineral powder, mineral eye shadow/dust, glitter, lipsticks, lip and eye pencils.  The company is a division of Jon Davler, Inc.  For many years, L.A. Splash has been a regular exhibitor at Cosmoprof Asia.  Commercial Specialist Luanne Theseira firs met David Sheen and Joe Wan at Cosmoprof Asia in 2004.  As a designated Asia Now event, CS Hong Kong's CommSpec Cheong Swee-Keng publicized the event to all CS posts throughout Asia to recruit a delegation and schedule counseling sessions.  In 2004, CS Singapore, specifically Commercial Specialist Theseira and Commercial Assistant Jayacely Joseph, recruited over 50 buyers from 30 companies.  CS Hong Kong also conducted an extensive promotion of the U.S. presence at the show, coordinated the publication of 15 cosmetics and toiletries market briefs for distribution to all U.s. exhibitors, arranged press coverage of the U.S. presence at Cosmoprof Asia and arranged Asia Now Show Time meetings between the U.S. exhibitors with Commercial Specialists from CS posts in Asia.  Through the show time appointment, CommSpec. Theseira provided L.A. Splash's representatives with an overview of Singapore's cosmetics and toiletries market, market research as well as contact list of prospective buyers from Singapore.  These leads were collected as a result of a pre-show fax broadcast campaign conducted by Commercial Specialist Theseira and Commercial Assistant Joseph.  This exhibitor support program was repeated in 2005 and 2006.  At Cosmoprof Asia 2006, held from November 15-17, CommSpec.  Theseira met with both Joe Wan and David Sheen.  She was informed that they had successfully entered the Singapore market and had accounts with 4 major retailers.  They attributed this to the support rendered by the U.S. Commercial Service at previous Cosmoprof Asia trade shows, particularly the market research and key contact lists provided by CS Singapore.  The four retailers and the retail value of sales are as follows:

Sa Sa Cosmetic Co. (S) Pte. Ltd. - US$200,000
Watsons Singapore - US$30,000
OG Singapore - US$30,000
John Little's - US$20,000
