Finding International Partners
Gold Key Matching Service
The Gold Key Service is designed to give U.S. companies the advantage of local expertise to schedule meetings with pre-screened potential agents, distributors, or other business contacts, according to the firm's needs. The service includes:
- 4-6 meetings per day (research necessary to identify potential agents/distributors, contacting all potential prospects, a schedule of appointments with interested parties)
- Services of a Commercial Specialist or trade aide to accompany the firm to appointments
- Market research (if available)
- Embassy market briefing
- Welcome kit
- Hotel reservations at preferential rates (where possible)
Embassy will arrange for a car and driver and/or for a translator/interpreter at additional cost if desired. Unless prior arrangements are made, the U.S. company is responsible for paying the service provider directly for these charges.
Lead-time is negotiable for the Gold Key Service, but it is generally 4-6 weeks after receipt of 10-15 sets of brochures and the completed Gold Key form.

All Central American posts offer a Regional GKS. By arranging and paying for the GKS for more than one country at the same time you can take advantage of second day pricing for each additional country. Prevent costly mistakes with quick, low-cost credit checks or
due-diligence reports on international companies. Before you do
business with a prospective agent, distributor, or partner, the
International Company Profile will give you the background
information you need to evaluate the company. U.S. Commercial
Service specialists personally visit international companies to
determine their relative strength, reliability, and financial
health, and provide you with a detailed report based on your
questions. Request ICP reports through the U.S. Department of
Commerce Export Assistance Center nearest you.

International Partner Search
Find qualified international buyers, partners, or agents without
traveling overseas. U.S. Commercial Service specialists will
delivers detailed company information on up to five prescreened
international companies that have expressed an interest in your
company's products and services. Companies wishing to have the
Gold Key Service as a follow up to the IPS will be charged $250
per day. This service is contracted through the U.S. Department
of Commerce’s Export Assistance Center nearest you.

Contact Lists
Upon request we can provide you with a list of companies with basic contact information including company name, address, telephone and fax numbers, name of contact person, email and company's website if available. Number of contacts may depend on the size of the market. (Explanation: The market may be bigger but there still might be only 2-3 major distributors.) This information has been reviewed and verified for accuracy. However, the local company may/may not be a suitable/appropriate partner for the U.S. company's product(s). For that screening, the USEAC should recommend a GKS, IPS or customized market research. (For this service, 'Central America' is defined as the countries of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica.)
