A. The Federal Aviation Administration monitors an airline's safety

Q. I wanted to know if a certain carrier has filed for a certificate?
A. The Office of Air Carrier Fitness maintains a current listing of
all commuter/certificated air carriers and those who have filed for
a fitness (air carrier economic authority) certification. Please visit

package and/or to download a listing of certificated/commuter air
carriers or certificated/commuter applicants, or contact the office

Q. Where can I find an Essential Air Service (EAS) information
packet?

Q. How do I know if a certain charter has been approved for service,
and what happens if we are stranded?
A. The Special Authorities Office is responsible for maintaining a
list of approved public chartered flights, you may visit the website for a listing or contact the Special Authorities Office at (202) 366-2396
for additional information. To apply for a public charter, please
visit the website to download applications,
