1. Q: What is the difference between Auction and GSA Auctions?
A: An Auction is live at one location. The items are offered and called by
an auctioneer. GSA holds an auction when there is a large number of items for
sale in one location. Many of our car and truck sales are auctions. We use traditional
auction methods. Prospective bidders will receive descriptions, bidding instructions,
and an opportunity to inspect the merchandise ahead of time or on the day of
sale.
GSA Auctions is an online auction. Online auction sales offer web-enabled auctions,
a wide variety of personal property, electronic bidding, bids by proxy, and
instant feedback.
For other types of sales, please click on "Types of Sales" on the
left panel.
2. Q: How do I get the property to me as the winning bidder?
A: Getting the property to the winning bidder is the responsibility of the
buyer. GSA does not provide packing/shipping services. Winning bidders who need
this service are advised to go to the yellow pages from their Internet browser.
3. Q: How do I find out about Fleet auctions?
A: Click GSA Fleet Vehicle Sales
4. Q: Where and to whom do I send my money for online auctions?
A. Payment for items should be made to the Personal Property Sales Office responsible
for items offered and sold at GSA Auctions. This information is provided in
the email message sent to you when you have the highest bid on an item. The
email message will have an item link to view your winning item and the Personal
Property Sales Office address, commercial phone number and fax number where
your payment is required, as well as the email address for information. At this
link, you can also obtain the custodians name, address, commercial phone
and fax number to make the arrangements to remove the item(s). If you receive
errors when clicking on this link, please copy and paste the URL into your web
browser or go directly to GSAAuctions.gov. Also, the Personal Property Sales
office can be located on the long item description page at GSA Auctions for
each item.
