| Environmental Technology Databases |
| Center for Environmental Industry and Technology (CEIT) Innovative Technology Inventory and Virtual Trade Shows – Getting information to end-users on innovative technologies that can be used with more traditional technologies is key to protecting and enhancing water quality. Engineers, consultants, municipal officials, and others are frequently unaware of the broad range of new technological approaches available to enhance or replace conventional approaches to storm water and on-site wastewater management. CEIT and the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service have been collaborating since 1997 on a series of trade shows to disseminate information on innovative technologies and practices. The popular one-day shows have been translated into a Web-based format to make the information more widely available. |
| Field-Scale Demonstration Project Database – This database provides information about characterization and treatment technologies for hazardous waste remediation. |
New and Emerging Environmental Technologies (NEET)  – NEET is an on-line repository for information about technologies that prevent, remove, destroy, sample, monitor, or model air pollutant emissions from stationary, mobile, and indoor sources. NEET contains information about air quality improvement technologies that are commercially available, as well as technologies that are currently being developed. |
| Remediation and Characterization Innovative Technologies (REACH IT) – Sponsored by the Technology Innovation Program, this database allows environmental professionals to use the power of the Internet to search, view, download, and print information about innovative remediation and characterization technologies and their applications. It combines information from technology service providers about remediation and characterization technologies with information from EPA, the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of Energy (DOE), and state project mangers about sites at which innovative technologies are being deployed. Those sources provide up-to-date information about technologies that can be used to characterize or remediate a site and about sites at which those technologies are being used and the service providers that offer them. |
| VENDINFO – This is a database of more than 1,200 listings of pollution prevention equipment, products, and services. Using waste reduction equipment classifications, users can search this database for equipment, services, and sources. Company and technology listings may be added to VENDINFO. |

| Environmental Technology Verification |
| Environmental Technology Verification Program (ETV) – ETV develops test protocols and verifies the performance of innovative technologies that have the potential to improve protection of human health and the environment. The program was created in October 1995 to help accelerate the entrance of new environmental technologies into the domestic and international marketplaces. ETV provides credible performance data for commercial-ready environmental technologies to speed their implementation for the benefit of purchasers, permitters, vendors, and the public. |

| Global Network of Environmental Science and Technology – GNEST is an environmental technology, news, and business Web site that promotes the use of innovative environmental technologies. The site is made possible by a cooperative agreement between DOE’s National Energy Technology Laboratory and its Office of Science and Technology. |
| Environmental Technology Commercialization Center – This technology transfer center is managed by Battelle and links private companies to innovative federally developed technologies through Cooperative Research and Development Agreements. |
| National Nanotechnology Initiative – The ability to work at the molecular level to create large structures with fundamentally new properties and functions is an emerging area in the fields of science, engineering, and technology. The National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) emphasizes long-term fundamental research aimed at discovering novel phenomena, processes, and tools. NNI supports new interdisciplinary centers and networks of excellence including shared user facilities, research infrastructure, and research and educational activities on the societal implications of advances in nanoscience and nanotechnology. Funding is provided on competitive basis with other programs and within NNI. |
| Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) – Congress established OSTP in 1976 with a broad mandate to advise the president on the effects of science and technology on domestic and international affairs. OSTP leads an interagency effort to develop and implement sound science and technology policies and budgets. The effort is collaborative; OSTP works with the private sector, state and local governments, the science community, members of higher education, and other nations. OSTP provides technical support to the Office of Homeland Security through a joint arrangement. |
| West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation (WVHTC) – This foundation is a national technology organization driven by knowledge, excellence, and innovation; it offers global capabilities. The Environmental Technologies Program, under a cooperative agreement with EPA, assists with increasing industry awareness of identified EPA research and technologies that have collaborative partnership and market potential for commercialization. |
