Steps
In Phase 1, the IAWG and system owners do a general check of the information in DEAR, using DEAR reports. There are four categories of systems that should be in the DEAR inventory:
- major applications
- general support systems
- systems associated with an Exhibit 300 or 300-1
- financial management systems
Systems that aren’t in these categories need to be removed from the list; systems in these categories that aren’t in the list need to be added. Other things to watch for include wrong descriptions, systems confused with subsystems, missing information, and duplicated entries.
