A net weighted balance of 18% of manufacturers expect a less favourable business situations in the next six months ending Mar 2009.

Employment grew by 57,800 in 3Q2008, slightly lower than the 58,600 increase in 3Q2007.

The Import, Export, Singapore Manufactured Products and Domestic Supply Price Indices fell by 2.5%, 1.2%, 2.8% and 4.1% respectively in Sep 2008 over the previous month, due to lower oil prices.
