Visa Questions?

You may direct general visa questions via e-mail or phone to the State Department's Visa Services' Public Inquiries Branch.

Due to the volume of inquiries, Visa Services cannot promise an immediate reply to your inquiry. To serve you better, please indicate the subject of your inquiry on the subject line (e.g., student visa, visitor visa, worker visa, spouse visa, affidavit of support, etc.)

Within the United States, you may also call the State Department's Visa Services' Public Inquiries Branch at 202-663-1225. This number has recorded information with an option to speak with a visa specialist during most business hours. Please note that this is a toll call.

If you want to inquire about an immigrant visa petition that has already been approved by the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services, you may wish to contact the National Visa Center (NVC) at 603-334-0700.

Overseas, please contact your local consulate or embassy for additional information.
