FBI Whistleblowers

The Director of the Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management (OARM) has the authority to adjudicate claims of whistleblowing reprisal brought pursuant to the FBI whistleblower regulations, 28 C.F.R. Part 27. It is the Director's responsibility to ensure that former or current employees of, or applicants for employment with, the FBI are protected from reprisal for reporting allegations of wrongdoing, and to order appropriate corrective relief in cases in which OARM determines that an unlawful reprisal for whistleblowing has occurred.

This website provides general information about the unique provisions of the law and regulations applicable to FBI whistleblower cases and OARM's procedures for handling those cases, as well as answers to frequently asked questions. The information provided is not all-inclusive, nor is it regulatory in nature; rather, this website is designed to aid complainants in understanding the process for seeking corrective action before OARM. All filings submitted to OARM are governed by the pertinent statute and regulations (i.e., 5 U.S.C. ยง 2303 and 28 C.F.R. Part 27).
