Richard B. Roper - US Attorney

We are proud to offer this website which spotlights for your information and convenience, not only our litigative work, but our involvement in significant community programs and initiatives.

The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas, established in 1879, has prosecutive responsibility over 100 counties in the northern and western areas of Texas, encompassing 95,895 square miles and a population of more than seven million. Assistant United States Attorneys in this District represent the United States in both civil and criminal litigation and are involved in cases that are often among the most critical cases tried in courtrooms across America.

Ultimately, however, the community we serve is the true nexus to effective law enforcement and successful prosecution. Even though our current initiatives continue to be quite successful, we will continue to work in concert with others to develop new ideas and strategies to prevent criminal activity and further enhance the quality of life in our communities.

For more than 100 years, the rich history of this district in serving its people has continued. The team of dedicated men and women who comprise the attorney and support staff are the finest around. I am proud to serve as United States Attorney for this District.
