The Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary is located off Boston, Massachusetts,
extending from Race Point Channel (just north of Cape Cod) to the
southern part of Jeffreys Ledge. In cooperation with NOAA,
surveys of the sea floor were conducted on four cruises over a two-year
period from the fall of 1994 to the fall of 1996 using a Simrad
EM-1000 multibeam echo sounder.
