SwathPlus
SwathPlus was developed by SEA, Ltd., operates on a Windows platform, and is used to acquire and process interferometric sonar backscatter and swath bathymetric data. In addition to acquisition parameters, the software enables the user to incorporate tidal elevations, speed of sound measurements, and filters to reduce noise and spurious data points. After processing the data, a bathymetric grid can be generated using the SEA Grid Processor Gridding and Visualization Application. The gridded data can be incorporated into a GIS and integrated with other geophysical data sets. For a full description of SwathPlus, please see: http://www.sea.co.uk.

SwathEd
SwathEd is a suite of software operating on UNIX/LINUX platforms that was designed to support research and development of multibeam echo sounder systems by the Ocean Mapping Group at the University of New Brunswick. John Hughes Clarke is the primary author of the software. As a research tool, he continues to modify the software to incorporate new swath bathymetric data types. SwathEd has a variety of tools such as navigation, beam and sonar editing, and data analysis tools such as refraction editing, time series analysis, patch test, and delay editors. For a full description of SwathEd see: http://www.omg.unb.ca/~jhc/SwathEd.html.
CARIS (HIPS/SIPS)
The Sea-floor Mapping Group recently incorporated CARIS Hydrographic Image Processing/Sidescan Image Processing software (HIPS/SIPS) into its suite of processing software to facilitate data sharing and collaboration with other government and private agencies. The CARIS HIPS/SIPS programs encompass all aspects of bathymetric and sonar data processing, validation, and presentation. The software operates in the Windows environment.
