Yen-pin Chiang, Ph.D.
Yen-pin Chiang, Ph.D., received his doctorate in Health Policy from the University of Rochester, and his M.A. and B.A. in Political Science from National Taiwan University. Currently a Health Scientist Administrator with the Center for Outcomes and Evidence, he has the primary responsibility of coordinating the implementation of Medicare Modernization Act Section 1013 mandate on comparative effectiveness research on therapeutics and other health care items.
Dr. Chiang also serves as the project officer for numerous extramural research grant projects that pertain to economic assessment in clinical studies, healthcare information technology, preference/utility assessments, patients health/functional status and health-related quality of life measures, cost-effectiveness analysis, and other outcomes research methodology issues.
Prior to joining the Agency in 1996, Dr. Chiang worked at the Health Care Financing Administration, the Office of Technology Assessment, Georgetown University and the Institute of Medicine.
